In the period between the Christmas holidays and the New Year, a rich programme awaits visitors to Vimperk Castle. In addition to the Winter Chateau tour and the exhibitions of the Vimperk Museum, there is a new exhibition about winter life in Šumava fifty and more years ago through the eyes of the gamekeeper Walter Paleček and his family. The story of the Sumava forester will be told by everyday objects, including household equipment and hand-knitted clothes.

Every visitor to the Vimperk Museum will be able to print an original New Year's card with the motifs of the castle on a printing press from 1870, prepared by the pupils of the Vimperk Primary School of Art.

The programme will run from 28 December 2024 to 1 January 2025 daily from 10:00 to 15:30. At 11 am the tour will start in German language.
