The Middle Ages

For true history lovers, there is a tour focused on the period when Vimperk was the castle guarding the Golden Path.

Come with us to search for the medieval form of Vimperk Castle! Together we will focus mainly on archaeological research and construction history to explain how the castle looked in the Middle Ages.

With a guide, you will visit the oldest preserved building - the Vlček Tower, stop by the archaeological excavations, see one of the "black" kitchens and take a look into the cellars under the southern wing of the Upper Castle.

The tour is primarily addressed to those interested in the medieval history of Vimperk Castle. For children under 12 years of age, please consider whether they will find the guide's interpretation interesting.
